About the Symposium

Interactive arts, augmented reality, educational gaming, C-SPAN, live video, digital collections, telemedicine and MORE! How can you change learning in YOUR classroom?

Advanced research and education networks, such as Internet2, offer higher education faculty and their students opportunities to connect to a diverse array of resources and to collaborate with partners around the world to enhance teaching and learning. Through a series of keynotes and breakout sessions, this one day Symposium is designed to give faculty a taste of the many projects and resources that exist, and how they can be applied in their own teaching practice.

The Symposium will be held on April 1, 2011 from 8:45 AM - 3:30 PM and will take place in two physical locations: Bucks County Community College in Pennsylvania and Mercer County Community College in New Jersey. Participants in both venues will be able to interact with presenters and each other through high definition video conferencing. To participate at one of the physical symposium locations, please click here.

Sites from around the world will be able to participate via interactive video or webstreaming.  We can take a limited number of interactive sites for each keynote, special lunch session and break out sessions. If you'd like your campus/school to participate as an interactive videoconference site, you must have H.323 videoconferencing gear and be connected to MAGPI, NJEDge.net, Internet2 or your national research and education network. To become an interactive videoconference site, please register here.

All sessions will be webstreamed live at video.magpi.net. Just click on the 'live stream' button to view available live webstreams the day of the conference. Webstream participants can send questions to the presenters by tweeting them to @magpik20 (with hashtag #TLi211) or posting them to the symposium facebook wall at www.facebook.com/TLi2Symposium.
